FLORIDA — Monday, October 19, 2026 — Florida is starting the new workweek with a mix of sunshine, cooler temperatures in the north, and breezy conditions along parts of the Atlantic coast.

While cities such as Jacksonville and Tallahassee are experiencing a noticeable taste of fall, South Florida continues to enjoy warmer weather, with afternoon temperatures climbing into the 80s.

According to National Weather Service forecasts, Monday will bring generally pleasant conditions across much of the state. However, strong winds, rough surf and dangerous rip currents remain concerns for several coastal communities.

Jacksonville and Northeast Florida

Jacksonville begins the week with cooler weather, partly cloudy skies and breezy conditions. The afternoon high is expected to reach approximately 72°F, with temperatures falling into the mid-50s overnight.

Nearby Orange Park, St. Augustine and Fernandina Beach can also expect a cooler start to the week. Residents heading to Atlantic beaches should pay attention to surf conditions and local advisories.

Daytona Beach will be somewhat warmer, reaching approximately 78°F, with a chance of passing showers and gusty coastal winds.

Orlando and Central Florida

Orlando is expecting a pleasant Monday with plenty of sunshine and a high near 80°F.

Kissimmee, Winter Park and Sanford should experience similar conditions, with temperatures generally in the upper 70s to around 80°F.

Ocala will see sunshine and a high around 79°F, while The Villages and Leesburg are expected to remain in the upper 70s.

Melbourne and other communities along the Space Coast could experience more clouds, passing showers and stronger winds near the shoreline.

Tampa Bay and Florida’s Gulf Coast

Tampa starts the week with sunshine and temperatures reaching approximately 81°F, followed by a cooler evening.

St. Petersburg, Clearwater and Brandon should see similarly comfortable conditions, although coastal areas may experience breezy weather.

Sarasota is expected to reach around 82°F, with sunny and windy conditions.

Farther south, Fort Myers will be warmer, with temperatures around 84°F, while Naples could reach 86°F under mostly sunny skies.

Miami and South Florida

Miami begins Monday with warmer temperatures, partly to mostly sunny skies and a high around 85°F.

Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Pembroke Pines and West Palm Beach can expect temperatures in the low to mid-80s, with only isolated showers possible.

Strong northeasterly winds remain an important concern along the Atlantic coast. Dangerous rip currents and rough surf could make swimming hazardous even where the weather looks pleasant.

Boca Raton, Delray Beach and Palm Beach communities should also monitor local beach warnings.

Inland communities such as Homestead and West Kendall are expected to reach the mid-80s.

Tallahassee and the Florida Panhandle

Northwest Florida will experience some of the coolest weather in the state.

Tallahassee is expected to reach approximately 75°F, with nighttime temperatures dropping into the upper 40s.

Pensacola will also see mostly sunny skies, with an afternoon high near 75°F.

Panama City, Destin and Fort Walton Beach should experience generally comfortable fall weather, with cooler mornings and pleasant afternoons.

What Should Floridians Watch Today?

The biggest weather concern Monday is not widespread rain but dangerous coastal conditions.

Strong winds and large waves along the Atlantic coast could create hazardous swimming and boating conditions, especially in South Florida and along parts of Florida’s eastern shoreline.

Residents and visitors should check local beach flags, rip-current warnings and marine advisories before entering the water.

For much of inland Florida, however, the new week offers an opportunity to enjoy cooler mornings, sunshine and comfortable afternoon temperatures.
