Drivers across Florida are seeing higher prices at the pump after the state’s average gasoline price climbed sharply over the past week.

According to AAA, Florida gas prices increased by about 18 cents per gallon last week, adding noticeable costs for drivers throughout the state. The statewide average reached approximately $4.42 per gallon on Friday, its highest level since May.

At current prices, AAA estimates that filling a typical 15-gallon tank costs roughly $65.

The increase is being felt across major Florida communities, including Jacksonville, Miami, Tampa and Orlando, as residents face higher transportation costs.

Gas prices can change quickly because of factors including oil prices, refinery operations, supply and demand, and conditions in the broader energy market.

AAA indicated that prices could begin moving lower again, but Florida motorists should continue to watch for fluctuations at local stations.
