Floridians can expect another warm day Thursday, with temperatures reaching the mid-to-upper 80s and around 90°F in parts of the state. Rain and thunderstorms will remain part of the forecast, particularly across Central and South Florida.

Jacksonville

Jacksonville is forecast to reach around 86°F, with an overnight low near 74°F. The latest forecast shows partly cloudy conditions and a relatively lower rain chance compared with South Florida.

Orlando

Orlando should see a high around 85–86°F and a low around 75–76°F. Showers and thunderstorms are possible, especially from the afternoon into the evening.

Tampa Bay

Tampa is expected to reach approximately 90°F, with the heat index potentially approaching 97°F. The National Weather Service forecasts mostly sunny conditions for much of the day, followed by a chance of showers later in the afternoon and evening.

Miami and South Florida

South Florida will have the highest rain and thunderstorm potential. Miami is forecast to reach around 83°F, with thunderstorms possible during the morning and scattered storms continuing into the afternoon. A coastal flood statement is also listed for Miami.

The Florida Division of Emergency Management says the current pattern features increasing rain chances toward South Florida, with the coastal southeast potentially seeing 80–90% rain chances and a marginal risk of flash flooding.

Tallahassee and North Florida

The weather picture is somewhat different farther north.

Tallahassee is expected to be around the upper 80s to low 90s, with conditions depending on the latest frontal boundary and moisture. The broader North Florida pattern is beginning to transition, while the weekend could bring higher rain chances again.

What changes Thursday?

The interesting part of Thursday is that the heat and humidity won’t disappear immediately, but the weather pattern is beginning to change.

A cold front approaching the state is expected to bring cooler and drier air after the current period of heat and storms.
