Miami police are asking residents to help identify a driver who allegedly struck and killed a man riding an electric scooter before fleeing the scene.

The fatal collision occurred early Tuesday, October 6, near Northwest Seventh Avenue and Seventh Street in Miami’s Overtown area.

Emergency responders later found the injured man in the roadway. Miami Fire Rescue transported him to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where he died from his injuries.

Authorities have since released surveillance images of a vehicle they believe was involved in the crash.

Police are searching for a dark-colored Toyota Corolla manufactured between 2020 and 2025. Investigators believe the vehicle may have significant windshield damage and possible damage to the front passenger side.

The car was reportedly last seen traveling toward the Little Havana area.

Detectives are asking residents to pay attention to vehicles matching that description, including cars parked in neighborhoods or brought to local repair shops.

Investigators hope the newly released images will help identify the driver and determine exactly what happened before the collision.

The investigation remains active, and police have not publicly identified a suspect.

Anyone with information about the vehicle or the crash is encouraged to contact the Miami Police Department at 305-579-6111.

People who wish to remain anonymous can also contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
