President Donald Trump is back on the campaign trail.

Texas is where he chose to begin his final month-long push before the November midterm elections.

Trump arrived in Denton, Texas, on Thursday, marking the beginning of what is expected to be an intense travel schedule leading up to Election Day on November 3.

His Texas appearance took place at a truck manufacturing facility, where he spoke about American manufacturing, the economy and his administration’s policies. But politics was never far from the conversation.

One of the important races in Texas this November is for the U.S. Senate. Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton is facing Democratic state Rep. James Talarico, and Trump used his visit to reaffirm his support for Paxton.

Texas was only the beginning

After leaving Texas, Trump’s next destination was Oklahoma, where he joined Republican candidates and supporters for a campaign event in Durant.

The two stops are the opening stage of a much larger campaign effort.

Trump is expected to spend much of October traveling around the country as Republicans work to turn out their voters and maintain control of Congress.

Other stops scheduled in the coming days include Alabama, Ohio and Nebraska, with additional campaign appearances expected as November 3 gets closer.

While Texas and Oklahoma traditionally favor Republicans, the president’s itinerary is expected to expand into more politically competitive areas during the final weeks of the campaign.

For Trump, the message is clear: with just over a month remaining before Americans vote, the campaign season is entering its final and busiest stretch.

And it started in Texas.
