A girls’ volleyball coach at Fletcher High School in Neptune Beach has been removed from the position as Duval County Public Schools (DCPS) investigates reports of inappropriate behavior involving student-athletes.

According to News4JAX, the school district confirmed Thursday that the investigation involves allegations of unsupervised and inappropriate activities among members of the volleyball team, both on and off school grounds.

School officials said Principal Ledford met Wednesday with volleyball players and their families to discuss the allegations and explain the district’s response.

The district confirmed that disciplinary measures are being implemented in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.

Meanwhile, Action News Jax reported that sources familiar with the situation linked the investigation to allegations of hazing involving players. However, school officials have not publicly confirmed those specific allegations.

DCPS also acknowledged that separate concerns involving the team’s former coach are under investigation. The coach has been removed from the position while officials continue reviewing the matter.

The district has not released details about the allegations involving the coach or explained whether additional disciplinary action could follow.

The investigation remains active, and school officials say families directly affected will receive updates as more information becomes available.

The case has raised concerns about student supervision, athlete safety and accountability within school sports programs.
