JACKSONVILLE, Fl — A man is in critical condition after being shot multiple times during an argument inside a home on Jacksonville’s Westside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Police responded around 7:45 p.m. Sunday to a residence on California Avenue, about two blocks south of 103rd Street in the Jacksonville Heights area.
When officers arrived, they found a man in his mid-40s suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a local hospital, where police said he was in critical but stable condition.Investigators believe the shooting happened after an argument broke out between the victim and another person inside the home.
During the confrontation, the other person allegedly pulled out a firearm and shot the man several times.Authorities have not said what led to the argument or whether the victim and the shooter knew each other.
JSO believes the shooting was an isolated incident involving the people inside the home. The investigation remains ongoing.
